Terms of Service
Effective 18 August 2026 · NiuwnAI
These are the rules for using the website at www.niuwn.com and the product at app.niuwn.com. They are written to be read, in short sentences, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.
The short version: the service is a free beta, you keep ownership of what you teach your Twin, and you are responsible for what your Twin says once you publish it.
Agreeing to these terms
Using www.niuwn.com or app.niuwn.com means you agree to these terms. That applies whether you own a Twin or are only chatting with someone else’s. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
How we handle data is a separate document: our Privacy Policy.
The service is in beta
NiuwnAI is in beta and currently free. That has consequences worth stating outright rather than burying:
- Features can change, move or break. Things that work today may work differently next month.
- There is no uptime or availability guarantee and no service level agreement. The service can be unavailable without notice.
- We take daily off-site backups, but a beta carries a real risk of data loss. Do not let your Twin’s knowledge base be the only copy of anything you would miss.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account. This is a condition of the agreement between us.
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current.
- Keep your credentials safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@niuwn.com if you think someone else has access to it.
- One account holds one Twin. The product enforces this.
What you teach your Twin
You keep ownership of everything you teach your Twin — your answers, your documents, your photo. Nothing here transfers it to us.
To run the service we need your permission to do specific technical things with that content: store it, process it, index it for search, and show it through your Twin to the visitors you share it with. You grant NiuwnAI that licence, for that purpose, for as long as you keep the content on the service. It does not extend to anything else.
You must have the right to upload what you upload. If a document, a page or an image is not yours to share, do not give it to your Twin.
You are responsible for what your Twin says publicly. You choose what to teach it and when to publish it. Read what it knows, test how it answers, and only then share the link.
What your Twin says
Twin answers are generated by AI. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when the underlying knowledge is correct.
An automated Guardian checks incoming questions and outgoing answers, and it is a real safeguard — but it is a safeguard, not a guarantee. Treat it as one.
Nothing a Twin says is professional advice. If an answer matters — a qualification, a date, a commitment, a fact you plan to rely on — verify it with the owner directly.
Acceptable use
This applies to owners and visitors alike. Do not use the service to:
- publish or upload unlawful, infringing, deceptive or harmful content;
- create a Twin that impersonates another person without their permission;
- attempt to break the isolation between Twins, or to reach another owner’s knowledge, conversations or account;
- attempt to extract the system’s internals — prompts, infrastructure details, other people’s data — from a Twin or from the API;
- probe, scan, overload or otherwise stress the service, or scrape it in bulk;
- evade rate limits, usage limits or account restrictions.
Limits and enforcement
The beta enforces usage limits — a monthly cap on visitor conversations, a cap on knowledge base size, and rate limits on requests. These exist so one account cannot exhaust the service for everyone else, and they will change as we learn what the beta can carry.
We may suspend an account or take a Twin offline where these terms are broken. There is currently no automated appeal: write to support@niuwn.com and a person will read it.
Ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time. Deleting your account in the app takes your Twin offline and disables password sign-in; full erasure of your data — including Google sign-in accounts, which need a written request — is completed on request, and the Privacy Policy explains exactly how.
We may change or discontinue the beta, in whole or in part. Where it is practicable to do so, we will give reasonable notice first.
No warranties, and limits on liability
The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that Twin answers will be accurate.
To the extent the law allows, NiuwnAI is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost profit or lost opportunity arising from your use of a free beta. Nothing in these terms removes rights that the law does not permit us to remove.
Changes to these terms
These terms will be updated as the product changes. Material changes will be signalled on the site and the effective date at the top will move. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
